Welcome to the Daphne Recreation Department's sports information website. Some of the activities on this website are run by the City of Daphne Recreation Department and othere are run by parent run volunteer organizations. The Daphne Recreation Department currently offers many different youth sports as well as a variety of adult softball leagues. The youth sports sponsored by the Daphne Recreation Department include: youth football, youth cheerleading, and 13-14 year old baseball for boys. The Daphne Recreation Department also offers adult softball leagues throughout the year. There is a men's church league in the spring, men's open leagues in the summer and fall and coed leagues throughout the year. There are also adult soccer leagues held throught the year.
The Youth basketball program is operated by the Bounds Family YMCA in Daphne. You can contact the Bounds Family YMCA at 626-0888 for more information regarding youth basketball. Their league usually starts in November. Daphne United Methodist also offers an UPWARD basketball/cheerleading program.
Youth Baseball (ages 5-12) is operated by the Daphne Dixie Youth Organization. The Daphne Dixie Youth Organization is a group of volunteers who handle all of the organization of youth baseball for children ages 5-12. They usually take registration in late January. A group of parents started the Daphne Girls Softball Association in the Fall of 2012 to try to build the softball program in Daphne. They operate the Spring and the Fall girls softball leagues in Daphne. More information is available by clicking on the Girls Softball link.
Starting in the Spring of 2013 the Daphne Strike Soccer Club will be overseeing the recreational soccer program in Daphne. The Daphne Strike Soccer Club started up in the Fall of 2010 and has offered an opportunity for local players to play at little higher level of competition on the club level.
